...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM PST THIS MORNING THROUGH FRIDAY
MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...Portions of central and south central Washington, including the following areas, in central Washington, Kittitas Valley, Simcoe Highlands and Yakima Valley. In south central Washington, Lower Slopes of the Eastern Washington Cascades Crest and Upper Slopes of the Eastern Washington Cascades Crest.
* WHEN...From 7 AM PST this morning through Friday morning. Area rivers and streams are expected to reach their highest levels between Wednesday and Friday.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- An atmospheric river moving into the region this week is
expected to make for heavy rainfall along the Cascades.
Runoff from this rain, combined with lowland rain, will make
for rises along area rivers, including the Klickitat, Naches,
and Yakima Rivers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
WATER SUPPLY UPDATE< AUGUST 7, 2025 -
The Yakima Field Office provided an update for the August Total Water Supply Available (TWSA) on August 7, 2025. Pro-rationed irrigation districts’ allotment remains at 40%. The season end date for KRD water users will be Wednesday, August 13, 2025. KRD will begin lowering water levels in the canals and laterals early that morning and you will continue to see water levels go down through Friday as the water deliveries for irrigation are shut down. Last date to order water from your Ditch Rider will be Friday, August 8, 2025, between 7:00-7:45AM.
Note! There will be a small amount of water in the Main Branch Canal and the South Branch Canal as part of KRD’s tributary supplementation program. This water is not available for irrigation.
